How
to Sign Up For Your Trip
Checking for Availability and Paying the Deposit
Thanks for choosing Copper Oar for your next outdoor adventure!
If you have any questions or would like to reserve space on a particular
trip, please call us at 800-523-4453. If there is space available
on the trip and dates you want, you can either reserve your spot
with a credit card over the phone or send in a check with a Trip
Application that we can mail or fax to you. Or, you can contact
your travel agent and she or he can handle the reservation directly
with us, with no additional charge to you. The deposit amounts are
listed below.
Reservations/Deposits/Payments
We recommend making reservations well in advance to assure space
availability. However, we may be able to accommodate those with
last-minute plans, particularly for our domestic trips. A deposit
paid by check or money order is due no later than ten days after
making the reservation, or can be paid by credit card when the reservation
is made. A $500 deposit per person is required to reserve space
on all multi-day trips. A 50% of trip cost deposit is required for
all day trips.
Cancellations/Transfers
If payment in full is not received by 60 days prior to your departure,
we will regard your reservation as canceled. A $50 per person cancellation
fee for domestic trips and a $100 per person cancellation fee for
international trips can be charged in these cases, or we may keep
the full deposit. If you cancel within 60 days of your departure,
no refunds will be issued unless we are able to fill your space.
If we are able to fill your space we will refund your payment less
the cancellation fee. You are welcome to find a replacement for
yourself. You may transfer your reservation to another trip during
the same year for a $25 per person transfer fee.
Performance
It is sometimes necessary to cancel or modify a trip. Therefore,
we reserve the right to cancel or make changes to a trip if necessary
due to weather conditions, changes in water levels, insufficient
reservations, or other circumstances beyond our control. In these
cases, we are only responsible for amounts actually paid to Copper
Oar for services we provide, and not for any other costs incurred
by the trip member. Guides and other trip personnel are not authorized
to make or promise trip refunds or credits.

Gear for Your Trip
It is recommended that you bring clothes and gear that allow you
to layer for temperature differences and have both a wet and dry
set of clothes. Layers allow you peel off clothes as the temperature
rises and then to keep warm as temperatures cool. Having a wet and
dry set ensures comfort and warmth each night in case your day set
gets wet.
Cotton clothing is not recommended for the wet set as wet cotton
can lower body temperature and be uncomfortable even in mildly cool
weather. Synthetics such as polypropylene, pile and fleece wick
water away from your body and help to insulate. These work well
both wet or dry. Wool also works fairly well but can be heavy and
uncomfortable when wet.
Please note: we will send you a comprehensive gear list when you
sign up for a trip. Please click on the appropriate link below to
