As with most recipes my mother shares with me, she thinks it would be a nice for a dinner party, and I think – how can I cook this on a rafting trip? Well this appetizer fits the bill for both – while it’s classy and delicious, it’s also easy to make, and the ingredients can be stored in a cooler for several days before serving. That’s a win-win for rafting trips. So enjoy this easy seafood appetizer at your next dinner party, camping trip, or river trip!
- 8-oz block of cream cheese
- 6-oz can of crab meat or tiny shrimp
- 10-oz jar of cocktail sauce (plastic is better than glass for river trips)
Unwrap block of cream cheese and set out horizontally on serving plate. Drain can of crab meat (or shrimp) and pour over the cream cheese. Pour cocktail sauce on top of crab meat. Squeeze lemon juice on top, and serve on crackers.
