Everybody knows about making s’mores when camping, but take your campfire dessert to the next level with Banana Boats! With a full serving of fruit, simple ingredients, and easy clean-up, it’s no wonder this delicious recipe is a crowd pleaser. Here’s how:

Serves: 1 person


  • 1 Banana
  • Peanut Butter
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Mini-marshmallows


Cooking Equipment Needed: Tin foil, sharp knife, tongs, and a campfire


Pull off a piece of tin foil large enough to fully wrap your banana. Holding your banana with both ends up (like a boat), take a sharp knife and slice your banana lengthwise, along the top of the curve. Squeeze the ends together and the cut should open up, creating a cavity in the banana. Fill this opening with peanut butter, chocolate chips, and mini-marshmallows (along with any other delicious fillings you can think of!). Wrap up your banana boat in tin foil and set on the fire (hot coals work best!). Let sit for 10 minutes and then carefully retrieve with tongs. Unwrap, grab a spoon, and dig in!
